Purpose:
Responsible for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to support a manufacturing organization.
Principle Accountabilities/Duties:
o Implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability
o Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production
o Oversee new process equipment production
o Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters
o Trouble shoot process related issues
o Participate to activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements
o Evaluate and select various engineered materials
o Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products
o Implement safety, productivity and yield improvements.
o Improve manufacturing techniques and through put.
o Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities
o Develop and maintain process documentation
o Review processing methods
o Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer
o Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer
o Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
o Lead cost improvement/reduction programs
Job Requirements
Minimum (MUST HAVE)
Qualifications:
o Specification, development and support of automated assembly and test systems, both synchronous and non-synchronous
o Ultrasonic welding of plastic parts
o Medical device assembly experience preferred
o Qualification//validation of manufacturing processes to GAMP or GMP requirements
o Understanding of thermoplastic injection molding tooling and process fundamentals preferred
o Experience in injection molding is a must and good people skills
o Ability to read/understand part and assembly drawings
o Theory/practice of ultrasonic welding of plastic parts
o Knowledge of a variety of automated assembly an manufacturing processes, preferably including: liquid/adhesive dispensing, laser etching, pad and jet printing, leak and pressure testing, thermo- and vacu-formed packaging, cartooning, etc.
o General SPC theory/practice
o SolidWorks CAD design software
o Microsoft Project, project management software
